One to One Testimonials

  • "As a TV freelancer there are very few people to turn to for bespoke career advice, so I had no hesitation in booking a two-hour one-to-one session with Hannah - and I’m very glad I did. Getting my CV reviewed, face-to-face, by someone who’s actually hired and managed TV teams was invaluable. I now have much more confidence when applying for jobs. Hannah is also a great listener and had lots of thoughts and ideas pertaining to my own particular situation. A career advice AI would have probably overheated, but Hannah remained calm and reassuring."

    -M. Thompson - Edit Producer/Series Director

  • "I had a one to one session with Hannah when I needed some advice on a change in career direction. Hannah helped me with my website, CV, showreel, profiles and provided links to useful resources. She was generous with her time and knowledge and it was incredibly helpful to have an experienced eye looking over everything and providing advice. I left the session with a list of actionable things to get done and left feeling motivated to get them done. I have already recommended speaking with Hannah to colleagues."

-Justin Wood - DOP & Lighting Camera Op

  • “I could not be more grateful to have met Hannah and to have attended several of her courses and a one-to-one session. Returning to the industry after a long career break, and looking to switch from an editorial to production role, I initially came across Hannah through some of her online short courses with Screenskills. From the very first moment Hannah is so engaging, enthusiastic and positive. Her passion for television production and for helping people in the industry is inspiring while her in depth knowledge and sound advice provide reassurance and solid guidance. Hannah is friendly, kind and approachable, you can ask her anything. She is thoughtful, intuitive, and generous with her time and knowledge. Her improvements to my CV and cover letter made them both so much clearer helping me convey my experiences and future career aspirations with both accuracy and passion. I trust Hannah implicitly and would highly recommend her training sessions, whether group or one-to-one."

  • “Hannah was my mentor for over 6 months and she was absolutely fantastic in giving me career advice as well as building up my confidence after a 3 year career break. Each of our sessions were jam packed with practical and useful information and I felt like she not only helped me professionally but personally too. She is so easy to get on with and open up to - such an important quality for a mentor - and I never felt judged or embarrassed to bring up issues that may seem unimportant. She also really helped me spruce up my CV and I feel confident sending this to potential employees. I would definitely recommend Hannah- we are still in touch and she's always so forthcoming with any help I need.”

    — Yeota Imam-Rashid - Producer

  • “I booked a Career Advice workshop. It was brilliant and so detailed, covering so much in such a small amount of time. Definitely worth it. We worked on my CV. Hannah explained, simply and clearly, the reasoning behind the CV changes, down to the last comma. The session gave me so much — a CV makeover, general industry tips and advice. When there is so much advice out there, it’s hard to know what to follow. Hannah helped me see a way forward. Hannah is lovely a person, really easy to connect with. It didn’t feel like a work-related session at all. She puts time, care and effort into each person she meets, no matter who they are or at what stage in their career. She knows exactly what to say and how to help. She is really invested in you as a person and wants you to succeed. Don’t put off gaining invaluable help and advice and meeting an amazing person. Thank you, Hannah. I wish I’d done it sooner.”

    - Collette Riggs - Runner

  • "My career advice session was really invaluable. I feel setup and confident to apply for work with my CV but also where to search for jobs and pathways that are available. Hannah was organised, left great notes and was overall a pleasure to have a session with!"

  • “My CV review session with Hannah was invaluable and well worth the investment. The session was hugely insightful and informative and she went above and beyond the remit of a simple CV review by also giving bespoke advise about my personal career progression, which was fantastic. Through discussion and example, she helped me understand how best to present my experience & transferable skills and the technique to shaping a television focused CV. Coming from my 10 years experience in a different area of the creative industries, I would highly recommend these sessions not just for graduates but also to professionals with experience elsewhere but who want a little more knowledge about the TV industry specifically before crossing over into this line of work. Hannah provided a safe space enter into discussions around a range of topics & queries, giving me a much better understanding of the requirements of working in this new environment. I now feel a lot more informed, confident and well equipped to progress in this industry. “

  • “It had been over 10 years since I was last in need of a CV, especially one for the TV industry; I had no idea where to start or what was needed. Luckily Hannah came to my rescue. After our session I had myself a CV that seemed to be put on the top of the pile and actually got me to interview stage. I cannot recommend Hannah enough for her calming nature, understanding of the industry and honest approach. If you want someone who goes above and beyond and genuinely wants to help you succeed, then you will not be disappointed.”

    - Craig Morris, Editor

  • “I have always had trouble writing CVs - it’s so difficult to summarise any job role into a way deemed impressive by employers. Luckily, Hannah came to the rescue! Hannah was able to pinpoint the pros and cons to my very average CV! She broke down the CV section by section, carefully explaining the best ways to highlight my skills and achievements in a way that is easier to read. I was also able to ask plenty of questions along the way which helped me gain an understanding of all notes given by Hannah. Hannah also helped me to figure out the rate I should request at this stage in my career. She gave a very thorough answer that was completely tailored to my experience working in smaller independent production companies, making me feel more confident to negotiate this with employers in the future. I would 1000% recommend Hannah’s service to anyone wishing to make a step to better understand an employer’s perspective in the creative industry, which will help you become a better candidate to any future roles. Hannah is very thorough and super easy to get along with - making the whole process very enjoyable.”

    - Chloe Lewis, Production Co-ordinator

  • "Hannah’s help has been invaluable to me as a complete newbie to the industry. From career and CV advice to set etiquette, Hannah gave me great advice and insight. The media industry is so different to every other, and it’s hard to know where to begin and how to approach applications and interviews. I also had no idea what to expect whilst working, and it gave me such anxiety that I’d mess up before I even began. There was so much I didn’t know and would have taken years of experience to learn, all laid out clearly and helpfully. Thanks to Hannah, I feel confident and capable enough to kickstart my career on the best note. I thought I had very little to put on my CV, but she helped me pinpoint transferable experience/skills to give me a CV that looks professional and sells my skills perfectly. Hannah also helped to break down what job paths there were, what would be expected, and how to behave on the job. She was patient and thorough with everything, I can’t recommend her enough for the great work she does and how kind she is whilst doing it. Regardless of what stage you’re at, I guarantee Hannah can help!"
