If you are looking for financial help to cover course costs, then the organisations below may be able to help*:



A ScreenSkills Bursary is a cash grant to remove the obstacles to getting into the screen industries or progressing your career once you’re in. It can be used towards training and should cover up to 80% of the course fees.



The ScreenSkills Make a Move - Unscripted TV is a mid/senior career development programme, aimed at helping production companies support on-the-job training and progression for individuals working in unscripted TV who are on the cusp of stepping up into their next role.



The ScreenSkills Unscripted TV bursaries for senior development roles is offering funding of up to £3,000 to ensure you remain connected in one of the fastest moving departments in the unscripted TV industry. (This may be suitable for our Developing Great Formats for Unscripted TV course).



The Sir Horace Ové Grant has been created to help Black and Global Majority people working behind the scenes in film, TV, and cinema to access opportunity and navigate barriers to career progression. Grants of up to £500 are available which can cover courses supporting your professional development.



The Alfie Squires Bursary is run by the Bectu Sector Executive Committee of Prospect makes available each year the sum of £5,000 for bursaries towards trade union-related education for Bectu members, particularly those in difficult circumstances.



The Prince William BAFTA Bursarycan provide Financial support to help assist junior creatives with the costs of progressing their career in film, games and television.



Screen Scotland have a Professional Development Fund providing support for individuals working in film and television to access training, mentoring and other professional development activity, nationally and internationally.



Northern Ireland Screen Skills Fund - The Skills Fund is a grant offered to individuals working in the Northern Ireland screen sector and is designed to support financially those participating in training or development courses. It can cover up to 75% of the course fees.



ReAct+ offers tailored support to those trying to re-enter the labour market in Wales after being made redundant by removing barriers and providing grant support for vocational training, travel costs and care (including childcare) related to training.



Media Cymru Skills and Training project - Delivered by University of South Wales, is offering up to a total of £1,500 per person to cover for loss-of-earnings while undertaking training.'



Ymddiriedcan provide funding to attend a course, conference or industry event if you were born in Wales, have lived in Wales for at least two years or you’re a Welsh speaker.



Discounts

We also offer a 10% discount for members of BECTU, Production Base, Talent Manager (Pro & Premium members), DUK, PMA, RTS and BAFTA. In order to obtain the discount, you need to email contact@mediacareeradvice.co.uk with proof of your membership/subscription and we will provide an invoice for payment. This will need to be paid before the start of the training course.

 

*Please note that we are happy to provide any evidence or material required by the funder. However as the payment arrangement is between yourself and the funder, attendees must pay for a ticket first either via Ticket Tailor or invoice and will then claim for the cost via the company providing the bursary. I’m afraid we cannot accept payment from individuals after the course/event has taken place.
